Josh Duhamel: You know what else we would do is I would sit there after work, sometimes we'd wrap for the day, and I'd still be in this full getup. You couldn't keep your eyes off of him on screen, it's a just such a great performance by Josh. I may not have been in the scene, per se, maybe later in the day, but I was definitely checking out some of those funnier scenes and I just couldn't believe how fun it all seemed, and how he was bringing Gilbert to live in this really playful and charismatic kind of way.

Josh Duhamel: Like, Styrofoam head mannequins.Įlisha Cuthbert: Yeah, so I kind of got to see every day when I would go into hair and makeup, all his identities, but then to see - there were a lot of times where I would just go and watch. Įlisha Cuthbert: But yeah, it was funny to see, even when you would go into the hair and makeup trailer, all the prosthetics were neatly placed on these like boards in front. So Elisha, I don't recall you having much screen time with Josh in disguises, outside the firefighter suit.Įlisha Cuthbert: Which was clearly my favorite. But it was these fun people that sort of come up, bubble up to the surface as you get into these disguises. I don't know, it's something that happens, to me at least, and it was really fun, because I'd be sitting there for an hour while they do this, and I'd be looking at myself and I'd be like, clearly French, he wasn't French in the script. There's something that happens where your voice changes a little bit, or you have a lisp, or you have an accent, or you have a limp. But until they put that nose on, and everything is done, and the mustache or the beard or the hat and the wig or the suit, something changes you. Josh Duhamel: You know, you put these things on, and we did a few makeup tests beforehand, so we kind of knew what we're going to wear.

And, it was a movie that had real pathos to it, I just felt like that was why I wanted to do it, you just read something, you spark to it, or you don't, and I sparked to this, and I'm really glad that Allan Ungar created a movie that we're very happy with.ĭid you have a favorite fake character to get to embody of all the ones in that montage that you have? All that stuff, it just felt like it was going to be a really fun movie to make. That part of it was really, really fun, I really was drawn to the characters that I got to embody in these disguises that he would put on. There's no affectation, there's nothing, she shows up, she's great in the scenes, easy to connect with, and funny, and I felt like I could just throw anything at her, and she'd come right back with me with something better.

I'm not just saying that because she's sitting right here, it was super easy. Josh Duhamel: Well, there wasn't a lot of it, because she really is just such an easy person to get along with. So, though you've known each other for a while, what was it like developing the specific rapport of your characters with one another? Elisha, I'll start with you, and then Josh, what about the film really caught both of your interest to want to be a part of it? I didn't know what to expect going in, and I truly had a great time with the film. So, I gotta say, Bandit was an absolute blast. That is pretty hysterical, that is the great thing about these interviews, is looking back on the fun of production. Josh Duhamel: I was like, 'Oh my God, I've never felt less attractive in my life.' Įlisha Cuthbert: I said, 'Not a lot of leading ladies that you've worked with probably have done that, I apologize.' I remember after they said, 'Cut,' she looked to her makeup girl and went. Josh Duhamel: Just sweating bullets, and she has to pretend like she's all turned on by what I just did, so she has to kiss me. Josh Duhamel: There was a moment when I'm leaving this bank, and I was in this fireman's costume, and it was like 100-whatever degrees in Thomasville, Georgia.Įlisha Cuthbert: He was sweating profusely.
